![]() ![]() ![]() Is this Tidal Connect? That seems to not work the same way as Spotify, it lets you stream to "supported devices", so if you have some sort of network connected DAC or player that Tidal explicitly supports you can stream to that and control it with your phone.īut it doesn't seem to allow you to just control the player on your PC, on my PC it lists my sound cards (including my wired USB DAC) but when I open it on my phone I only have "This device". This speeds up the process a bit when switching away and back to the AnyDesk app. ![]() UPDATE: With unattended access implemented on slave device using a password - when logging in from the iPad (control device) there is a slider that you can set to log-in automaticlly from now on (or some similar wording). Anyway - hope the AnyDesk solution is helpful to folks until we get the Tidal Direct connection between our mobile devices and the PC/Mac Tidal platform. I’m running it right now on my iPad, controlling the MacBook accross the room that’s running Tidal in a browser window, connected to my stereo (through an Audient ID4 Mic/instrument interface - amazing DAC in this thing BTW, actually makes a fantastic DAC/headphone amp - blows away my Rega Ear with Dragonfly Red for detail, clarity, soundstage, dynamics, noise floor - very detailed and smooth top end, deep deep articulate dynamic bass). You can set up a password for what AnyDesk calls “unattended access” on the slave device but you still have to click the connect button and type in the password each time you switch focus back to the AnyDesk app. It also frustratingly gives up the connection when the iOS device changes focus to another app or is locked. It’s very simple to implement - just install the program on both devices and type the ID number displayed in the slave device into the control device and authorize.Īs I said it’s a bit clunky - especially with the touch interface - you have to click above or below the scroll bars to scroll (no 2 finger scrolling unless you have a trackpad connected to iOS device), but hey - you have access to the full computer interface so it’s relatively functional, especially on the bigger screen of the iPad. While we wait for how ever long “soon“ is I have a clunky interim free solution:ĪnyDesk is free for personal use and lets you remote control PC/Mac from iOS Android or another computer. ![]()
